We're all fairly accustomed, now, to the rising price of petrol, gas and diesel <sad reacts only>, but how about re-familiarising ourselves, once again, with the 'it brand' belonging to the year 2000, Diesel.

The Italian retail company, Diesel, was brought to fruition by the likes of Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears, Ashanti and J-Lo, all modelling the brand's low rise jeans in paparazzi photos, red carpets and parties, which soon lead the company to becoming a house hold name in fashion thriving through the Y2K era. Diesel's low rise jeans meant as much to a girl back then as what blazers mean to me now <so quite a lot, seeming as an oversized collusion blazer is forever attached to my body >.

Rosso, aka the jean genius behind the brand repeated, “In 1978, DIESEL came into being. It was the moment of alternative energy. We’ve continued with that energy and that fearlessness through to the present. At the core, there’s no difference between who you are and how you identify. DIESEL is an attitude, and it always will be.” – Renzo Rosso.

The year 1978 : they launched.

The year 2000: they thrived.

The year 2019: they filed for bankruptcy.

And so, just like the fluctuating cost of gas, diesel and petrol, this fashion forward company has by no means had a smooth sailing journey either.

Their claim for bankruptcy in 2019 seems unbelievable and unfathomable seeing as their sucess rate in 2021/2022 is as though we are back in the year 2000 < the urge to write 3000 instead of 2000 here is a lot, thanks a bunch Busted >. Switching Paris Hilton for Dua Lipa and J-Lo for Megan The Stallion, Diesel has been brought back to life, and the power of influencing has never been stronger.

1DR, the bag surfacing all over social media, she is is THE bag of the moment, the bag everyone wants and likes profusely on Instagram, manifesting that one day she will too belong in our collection. With a classic silhouette, ranging from metallic silver to classic black, the striking D logo <standing for Diesel for the slow to process reader> makes this bag unique, bold and desirable.

Lyst denounces that Diesel is within the top 20 sought after brands for Q1 of 2022, a first time achievement for the brand. As significant as Lyst, Not Pink also approves of Diesel's revamp and is excited for their future announcements, collaborations and collections. Good work Diesel.

This is a Not Pink Spotlight shoutout.

Best,
